I built a new computer for our conference room at work which is hooked up to an LG 42" LCD (42LG50). When it was connected via VGA (old video card) everything works out dandy at 1920x1080. When it is connected via DVI to HDMI the video card software (Nvidia 9800GT) says that the native resolution of the connected display is 1360x768.

Needless to say this is quite annoying as I know the display is native at 1920x1080 and the picture, when set to that resolution, is quite bad.

Any thoughts as to why this is the case? I have the exact same TV at home although it is a slightly older model and it works just fine (DVI to HDMI).

VGA is no longer an option as the new video card only outputs DVI.

Thanks!

Nvidia gives you DVI to VGA adapters in the box. Try that first to see if it makes a difference.

Otherwise it might just need a software update.
