All,

Ive got a Pioneer 43tx and will be getting an OTA/directv stb. Since I have my dvd going directly to the projector(Z1) once I hook up the stb I'll have two component devices. My thought was to let the receiver do the switching, but I cant seem to find out if the bandwith on the 43tx will pass HD signals. I'd like to avoid an external switch and a scaler/switch is just not in the budget at this time

if this has been addressed, I apologize, the search engine keeps dying due to high server usage.

Thanks in advance

It passes up to 40 MHz and I think HD maxes out around 34 MHz, but of course there could be more to it inside the unit than just the numbers. I'd A/B it first and then get the switcher if it noticeably degrades the signal. Unfortunately, a good one probably won't be cheap, but maybe you won't need it.

It worked! no noticeable signal degradation in preliminary tests with scientific atlanta 3250hd(1081i) and rp-82 dvd player. I will continue testing and post results if anyone is interested
