At a comparable pricepoint, ($450.-$500.), is the Panasonic DMP-BD30 the "only game in town" ? i.e., would you buy it now? OR, something else...such as...

Thx for any input.

(I have Pioneer 5010, Onkyo 606, JBL sound, and a Cox cable box/DVR...)

The Panasonic BD30 is an excellent choice provided you have an AVR with HDMI 1.3 that will decode the advanced audio formats and you don't care about BD Live (profile 2.0). Plus, someone on another forum (a Best Buy employee) said that the BD30 price is dropping to $399 beginning July 13 (probably to compete with the newly released Sony 350). The BD30 is a no brainer at that price IMO.

Thanks, krisjan. Wow, that's a huge price drop. I will surely look into that.

I just got that Onkyo 606 AVR about 2 weeks ago. I think that will handle most of the sound formats.

Really appreciate it...
