I just acquired a used 4504 that suppossedly was never activated. On power on, I get the "Please Wait" screen and the Power Light blinks.
I tried what little troubleshooting advice was in the manual. My question is does anyone know what the usual cause of this error is on the 4500 series?
I'm a long time Showstopper user and I've never had an issue with it even after two HD upgrades.
If the problem on the 4504 is just a corrupted image is that as easy to fix as downloading one of the one's available on ftp and using rtvpatch to re-image the drive? The only reason I ask is because the showstoppers don't have to be activated. I didn't know if re-imaging with the non-original image would screw up the serial number needed for activation.
If this info was previously posted, sorry...I couldn't find it. Any troubleshooting info would be appreciated!
