46xv645 vs 47lh40 vs lc46e77u

Hello, I've spent awhile picking through all the awesome info packed threads here at avsforum which has helped me alot, but here is my issue. As many other 1st time hdtv buyers have done, I have a general idea what I am looking for, I have narrowed my options down to 3: LG 47lh40, Toshiba 46xv645, and sharp aquos lc46e77u, then only one I've seen in person is the sharp which was nice, I have seen the lg scarlet lg60 and it was nice as well - wondering how much better the lh40 is, have yet to really see a toshiba in person but have seen that their color calibration is quite limited. So I'm just wondering if anyone has been in the same boat as me and may be able to offer further insight or any pros and cons vs the 3. Thank you

I just purchased the Toshiba 46xv645, so far so good, I still need to work more on calibration, however I'm happy with it. The only issue I have and I know this going in, when full black there is some banding visible, I've never noticed it during playback, but when calibrating it with say IRE10 I can notice it. One thing I really like and what keeps be coming back to Toshiba models is the quick select inputs by number.

As for limited color calibration, I'd disagree I can match 709 specs almost 100%, well I'm off ever so little on Red and Blue Green is perfect and can get anything over IRE25 (hard to messure actuatly at less than this) to be balanced at 6500K, not without using the service menu (true) but it can be done, so have to disagree with the statement "color calibration is quite limited".

i also got the toshiba 645, i like the set, colours are accurate etc

though my first set is going back because the lower right side the speakers rattle even with the bass lowered with certain high volume noises during tv shows etc

been able to reproduce it many times.

i am also looking at the sharp as well. going to try it out.

Have you posted your settings anywhere? I also have the 46XV645, and have used it with very minimal adjustments out of the box. Would like to look at your settings. You can PM me if you prefer.
I'd also be interested in settings on the Toshiba 645. I'm hooking it up tomorrow. I was very impressed by the set in the store sitting next to the '240hz' Toshiba and Sony sets. Any calibration settings from current owners would be helpful.

I am particularly interested in color adjustments. I have been using Sports Mode rather than Autoview, because the colors seemed more subdued with Autoview than with Sports Mode. I first noticed it on July 4, watching Wimbeldon as well as other programs. I wonder if with appropriate color adjustments, I will be able to use Autoview with richer colors as well as other picture adjustments.

From what I have been reading on the 46xv645 I believe it may be the one. Eric seeing as you have the 645 have you noticed any artifacs especially on sd content. Unsure of the 645's panel response time, but do you think it would hold it's own against the sharp's 4 ms, would there be any noticeable difference cause I know prev cinespeed panels are rated 8 ms or less?
I also would like to get the settings for the 52xv645!

how about comparing 46xv645 vs LN46B650? any chance toshiba better than sammy?
http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-LN46B650-46-Inch-1080p-120Hz/dp/B001ULBP8E/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1248110665&sr=1-2

The LN46B650 was released on 4/1/09, yet its current price even on Big River is hundreds above the 46XV645 which was released in June. Fry's is offering the 46XV645 this week for 1099., and I bought mine at BB 3 weeks ago for 1097.. It is very possible that two months from now it will be possible to buy a backlit LED such as the Toshiba 46SV670 at a price equivalent to the current price of the LN46B650.
