I know this answer is in here somewhere. But honestly, if I start reading and looking for the answer I will become dissatisfied with my z2 and end up spending a few grand on a new projector. Ignorance is bliss.

Question: A friend of mine is looking at a refurbed infocus 4800 for $600. He wants to know if he should get it, and I just can't remember the difference between the 4800 and 4805, and is an extra $400 worth the difference. Also, I know you can get dvi/vga adapters, but can you get a component/vga adapter?

Thanks for the help, and saving me a bunch of time.

4800 uses older dmd and is 4:3 800x600. 4805 is 16:9 at 854x480 and uses the new darkchip dmd. 4805 has deeper blacks, up to 3x the contrast thanks to its 4x six segment color wheel and twice the brightness. The 4800 is 2x 4segment color wheel.

Infocus carries the component-to-vga adapter on their website for 10 clams or so.
