4805 and direct tv reciever

I have just purchased a 4805 and I am waiting for it to arrive. In the mean time I am trying to find out which hd reciever will work the best for my needs. I have also purchased a da-lite 77" HCCV, I know that most of the channels are 4:3 so what can I do to fill the whole screen for the 16:9. Another problem is the off air channels will I be able to see them with the projector or will I have to buy something to to convert the coax to rca jacks. I am new the the projector field so any help would be great! Thanks Patrick:confused:

There's an aspect ratio button on the 4805 remote. When you're watching 4:3 content, you can switch between the different aspect ratios of 4:3, 16:9, letterbox, and Native. 4:3 will show 4:3 content in the middle of your 16:9 screen with bars on the side. 16:9 mode will stretch the image to fit the whole 16:9 screen, making everything seem wide. Letterbox mode will zoom in on your 4:3 content and crop off the top and bottom but it will fill the whole screen.

You will need an hd box that will have component or dvi/hdmi outputs (pretty all do). If you connect hdmi/dvi from your box to the 4805, you will need an dvi/hdmi to m1 adapter. Component should work fine.
!tric: are you referring to over the air HD or one of the 3 satellite services? There are a few Zenith 520 Directv HD boxes left on market that will do a fine job on either. They are refurb. and selling for around $200.
By the way, you come into the HD set top box with coax; then, component out to component in on the 4805. These are the 3 color cables...red, blue, green. This is for video; your audio will be routed to your audio system.
Thanks for help with this stuff, I still need to figure out what I'm going to do with my dvd if I decide to go with component for the direct tv. I guess I'll see when everything gets here. Thanks again
1tric. A simple way to send different signals to your projector is to send them into a component switcher; then, one cable to your 4805. . Of course, there are also other connections on backside of 4805 if you want to send another cable to the projector from another source of programming.
