I've looked at various sites but can't get a definitive answer.

Audio Authority and Key Digital both offer (relatively) low cost units that seem to do this conversion but I can't tell if they do 480i transcoding (or just 480p 720p and 1080i) I have a CVC100 from Extron which already does the same thing (i.e everything except 480i) and I have a "workaround" by setting my Panny to send all signals out as composite 480i then scaling it as if it were NTSC - I only do this for 480i, in particular with PBS multicasting anamorphic widescreen stuff. The switch is mechanical so it's a pain. I can live with it but it'd be nice to avoid it. I think the CVC200 may do this (?) but it's pricey and I'd need to unload my 100 to make sense. The sites say these units can do the 480p 720p 1080i transcoding "switch selectable" - does this mean the unit needs to be switched manually each time the format changes or does it autosense (does it even need to)?

(OTA and Dish5000/HD mod to Panasonic TU-DST51 to Extron CVC100 to Marquee8500LC for 720p and 1080i

NTSC sources or 480i composite from STB to CrystalImage to 720p to Marquee)

Any help clearing this up would be much appreciated

Thanks

Andy
