was talking to someone today who said that my image was going to

be much better through my quadscan scaler via 480i upscaled to

dila resolution than a 480p signal directly into the g11.

i believe the guy but my setup has problems right now

so i can't see for myself.

can anyone confirm or comment on this?

just curious

thanks

Without ever seeing that the answer should be yes.

In otherwords your projector can't display a 480p signal natively and so both 480i and 480p will still need to be scaled. Not only that, but unless you have a progressive scan DVD player with a VERY nice scaler, then the quadscan will do a better job with the native 480i signal from a DVD.

Hope that helps.

I found that the picture direct from a progressive DVD player into my G15 (although not perfect) was preferreable to an interlaced picture into the Quadscan Elite and then to the G15. The picture through the Quadscan Elite was much too soft. Also, I struggled to get the colors right. I ended up selling the Elite. I have some basis to believe that this was perhaps due to a mismatch between the Quadscan Elite and the DILA technology, but my opinion is that you are better off with a more expensive processor or with a good progressive DVD player.
