953 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  frawls1
Ok,

Ive got approx $4K for a 42" plasma - what to get? The Panasonics look good but it appears there is a huge waiting list? Im looking to buy something mid Feburary and I want to avoid a 2 month wait list. Suggestions on what to look for?

Im want HD 1024x1024 preferred

additional pluses would be SmartCard, SD or any other card slot, or whatever.

You should check out the Panasonic TH-42PHD6UY, which should be right in your price range. As I understand it, the waiting list is mostly for the industrial/commercial ED units (PWD6).
Ah,

Ok I must be getting confused with all the model #'s - That one looked good but I kept seeing 'waiting for' type msgs surrounding the Panasonic 42" HD unit - If the commercial one is in more abundant supply that would be great. Anyone know where I could see one of these live in the wild ;)

I imagine it'd be difficult to find it at a B&M since it's a commercial model. You can, however, see the consumer version (TH-42PX20) of this model at just about any place that sells Plasma TV's.
Whoops, I meant Consumer not commercial :), thanks.

Before buying an Alis Display, do a seach on the forum and see opinions about it.

I thought I saw the TH-42PHD6UY as stock on Visualapex web site today and at the best price I have seen so far. Click the logo at the top of the page to check.
I hate these titles - "consumer" and "commercial" are terribly confusing terms that suggest nothing about their differences. "Industrial", now that works, that implies something.
Yo Mario...

Avete bisogno di una gru di tenere quella in su??

Vittorio,

Parlo un piccolo italiano (I speak only a little Italian). Sorry, I just get by communicating the basics to relatives, so I am confused about your point.
Mario, I was just trying to make a joke.

Basically, I asked..

Do you need a crane for this "Industrial" model.

I guess it loses something in the translation.

Ciao, VB
I actually understand the words, but didn't know it was a joke !
Try a search on the JVC PD-42WX84 HD plasma. There are many happy owners here.

It is in your price range and offers many features that the commercial Panny PHD6 model does not have.
