5.1 AAC/Dolby Digital on MP4 trailers??

Alrighty. What I'm doing now is archiving HD trailers for movies from Apple's and Yahoo sites (so far). The problem I have is preserving the 5.1 AAC audio on these files when I change the container from .MOV to .MP4.

You don't have this problem if the audio in the .MOV files are in stereo. You do have this problem if the audio is in 5.1. Using Yamb, 5.1 clips yields NO AUDIO. Using Quicktime's Export feature, the default is MONO and you have to change it to STEREO to get the Pro-Logic to work.

Here's the unknowns:

1) Can the PS3 decode 5.1 AAC audio in the MP4 files and pass it as LPCM via HDMI?

2) Can the PS3 decode 5.1 Dolby Digital audio in the MP4 files and pass it as LPCM via HDMI?

3) Can the PS3 transcode 5.1 AAC audio to 5.1 Dolby Digital in the MP4 files and pass it through optical out?

4) Can the PS3 pass through 5.1 Dolby Digital in the MP4 files and pass it through optical out?

Ideally if all four questions yields a YES, then I can start work on extracting the 5.1 AAC files and re-muxing it with the video, or transcode the 5.1 AAC to Dolby Digital and re-muxing it with the video.
