I was looking at purchasing a new receiver and was wondering if I lose anything by connecting a 5.1 speaker system to a 6.1 receiver? By that I mean would there be any problems or would I be missing anything compared to the same speakers on a 5.1 receiver? Thanks.

Please share the answer. I have the same question regarding hooking up 6:1 to a 7:1 receiver. I pre-wired for 6:1 and just bought the AVR 525 which is a 7:1 receiver. I'm guessing that I will hook the rear center to one of the side surround inputs? Is this correct?
