5.1 System for ~$2,500 Recommendations

Looking for advice on a 5.1 home theater system for roughly $2,500 ($2,000 to $3,000) including speakers and AVR. The majority of the time it will be used for watching movies and occasionally music (90%, 10%). A sketch of the room layout is attached. It's an open area where the kitchen is behind the couch. The ceilings are 11' high and the room width in the living room portion is 19'. The red circles are holes that have been cut out in the ceiling by the previous owner. Given that the holes are already there I was thinking of maybe adding ceiling speakers down the road to have a 5.1.4 setup. My concern is that the front ceiling speakers are too far in the corner and I don't know if it would even be worth it to setup an Atmos system.

I was considering the ELAC Debut 2.0 5-1/4" speakers paired with the Denon AVR-X3700H. The speakers are currently on sale for $1,185. Considering switching the sub for an SV-1000 Pro.

Here is a summary of what I am looking for:

- 5.1 speakers and AVR for $2,000 to $3,000
- 90% for movies, 10% music
- Ability to upgrade to a 5.1.4 system in the future but this is a nice-to-have, not a requirement (is Atmos even worth it given the ceiling speaker locations?)
- Is the Denon AVR-X3700H overkill if I end up sticking with a 5.1 setup?

Thanks in advance!

Update:
turns out that there are actually four Polk MC60 speakers wired in the holes. The previous owner mentioned that she never used those speakers and I incorrectly assumed that they were just cut outs.

5.1.2 system
Costco AVR $400 (Yamaha TSR-700 or Denon AVR-S750H)
Speakers from Emotiva (unless there's an Infinity Reference sale going on)
T0+ towers + C1+ center + E2+ surrounds
For Infinity Reference, besides the incredibly low sale prices, another benefit is the free return shipping if they're not what you want.
You could get Emotiva Vaulta ceiling speakers, but save some money getting Monoprice angled Caliber or Alpha speakers instead for less than half the price.
You could save some on speakers going with bookshelves instead of towers, or going with "refurbished' Polk Signature or TSi models (The quotes are there since they carry like-new warranty)
Sub - SVS PB-1000 (non-pro) outlet special (or get it locally at a retailer)
Comes in under $2K

You could probably get to 5.1.4 on budget
Costco AVR to AVR-X3700H +$900 (or find something used for less of course. There have been a few good used options in the classifieds)
2nd pair of Atmos speakers +150 or less.

The ceiling speaker locations aren't the worst out there. They're already cut and there are inexpensive options, so you could roll the dice. You may want to consider if/how you want to deal with back-boxing the ceiling speakers

If you stretch from here, a 2nd sub or upgraded sub comes to mind. Possibly upgrading the center channel

Right/Left - Emotiva t1+ $700
Center - Emotiva c2+ $400
Surrounds - Emotiva B1+ $250
Subwoofer - SVS PB-1000pro $600
Denon AVR-S750H $550

total - 2500

...upgrading the receiver to a x3700 would be nice since it allows you to add in an external amp if you ever feel you need it and allows 4 addtional atmos channels but adds $750 to the cost
