After 5/8's of DD + an inch of furring strip it seems that my receptacle boxes need longer screws to get them way up front. Do you guys have a way around this? Solutions? Thanks.

For my sconces I used old work boxes that got attached to a frame of one inch furring strips. Then I glued and screwed the whole assembly over an appropriate hole in the DDW. Would work for receptacles just as well. In fact they are more secure than the dial a depth boxes.

If you have the dial a depth box just screw out as far as they will go then use the box extenders to get you all the way home.

Sorry no pics.
