I just got finished upgrading my 5000 box to a dual drive configuration. Upon restarting my unit no longer responds to the remote control. Everything else works (records shows, is visible on network and can serve shows to other units) except the remote control.
I checked the cable bundles going between the motherboard and the PCB with the power switch, blue LED & IR receiver (did a continuity test on each wire with a multimeter) and they all checked out.
Either one of the wire connectors is bad or the IR reciever on the PCB has died. When I swapped the PCB/wire bundle from my other 5000 unit the upgraded unit started working fine so the problem is definitely in either the PCB or the wire bundle/connector package.
Any ideas? I really don't want to have to send the whole unit back just for this stupid little part.
