My ReplayTV 5060 has stopped outputting audio just over a year after purchase. The video is fine but there is no audio on replay or live TV. I am using the component video and the RCA audio outputs. There had been no connection changes made to the 5060 audio/video system when this problem first appeared. I have tried moving the audio outs to a known good audio input on the receiver with no change. I have also done a “hard rebootâ€. It appears to me that the RCA audio driver has failed. Is there anything else I should attempt? Any idea what the cost to repair the audio driver would be?

By hard reboot, I assume you mean you pulled the plug for 5 minutes? Have you tried the output 1 and output 2 audio jacks?? They should be live. If there were something wrong with the audio circuit the RF out would not have audio. Silly question, but I assume you swapped cables to make sure there is not short?

Tony,

Yes that is what I ment by hard reboot. I am currently using the audio 1 jacks …. I will try audio 2 and if that doesn’t work I will try the composite coax (RF, out to TV) jack and see if it works. I have been using audio 1 and the progressive outputs for the past year w/o problems. I will try new cables for the audio although I seriously doubt the cables could have gone bad when they haven’t been moved. The electronics for the progressive out video RCA audio and the composite (audio/video) outs should be seperate. But thanks for the ideas.

A/V 1 and 2 are always live, right out of the box. Component is not. If the A/Vs are dead, you have a problem.
