I was thinking of going with bipolars in the rear channels. The problem is the ones I'm looking at only go down to 130, while my bookshelf fronts go down to 50. I was going to cross at 80... will this hole be really noticeable w/o seriously listening for it?

Yep, an all powerful sub would help somewhat, but i kept upgrading my rear channels unitl i had good midbass in the back, even the 80hz models didnt seem to cut it.
I think it would be a problem with action type movies that heavily use the surrounds, although I am not sure it would be noticeable unless you knew a difference.

Well John, I was either going with those bookshelves for the back or their bipolars. I might just stick with the bookshelves.
My sub will be the Dayton 12'' 150watt from partsexpress
