I just got an RCA DTC-210 and hooked it up through component and the picture was amazing of course. Noticed the RCA has a D-SUB or VGA connector so hooked that up to the VGA in on the 50PHD7UY I just got, and I swear the picture is slightly softer like it has a little less resolution. Only HD material shows it, DVD's look normal.
Is it possible the VGA on the RCA or the 507UY cannot handle 1080i?
Also on the 50PHD7UY I am noticing a horizontal line thru the center of the screen on 1080i, switching to 720p removes the line but then the picture is not quite as sharp, is it normal to see this line thru the center of the screen on 1080i material?
Thanks for any input.
