Hi guys, i have a 51" VIVITEK projection TV and recently replaced the color wheel but now i have blue as the main color.....Everybody looks like the smurfs now......do i have to synchronize the wheel or something?

I know somebody told me to get a service manual for the tv....man i have looked everywhere for a service manual and come out empty.....this is my last resort to look for an answer if not to the garbage it goes.

Thank you in advance guys.

Do you mean you just get a blue screen, or do you see a picture but it is blue-ish colored?

Post full model number. Are the Tv menus also blue? Are all the inputs blue? Colorwheel should be plug-n-play, but there could be a hardware jumper on the dmd that needs to be pulled or shorted, ie Samsung. If adjustments are needed it should only be for minor color shift not drastic like you have.

Well, I wish I could help. I don't have a service manual for any vivitek Tv so it's very hard to figure this out. It may be a service menu adjustment or hardware jumper or wrong/defective colorwheel. You should try to get a service manual here . Can you take a picture of the back of the Tv with the cover off?

I have the manual but that doesn't tell me anything...

User manual is not the same as service manual. You're gonna need the service manual. Sorry, never worked on that model before.

I just inherited a second 42" vivitek DLP RPTV that's got a blur problem. Everything has blurriness / halo's to the point at which you can't even make out the "no signal" message that's built in to the TV.

I tried switching bulbs, removed the screen and checked the mirror and "eye" for any dirt. This did not help.

Does anyone have experience fixing a blur issue on these TVs? Is there anything else I should be trying to clean or adjust inside the TV?

Anyone have a service manual for these RPTV's that describes how to adjust blur?

Post pictures of the "blur". Could be a focus adjustment on the lens assembly somewhere...

Here's a couple photos. The "no signal" and "no signal lock" messages are also blurry, appears to be internal to the set. Previously I tried VGA from a computer source and that was also blurry.

I can't find any adjustment knobs. There's one screw in the color wheel tunnel that may be and ajustment screw but I couldn't see a change when moving the screw a couple turns in each direction. I didn't check the PC board yet for screws.

Photo's at this link:

Can only recommend figuring out lens focus adjustment. Sometimes there's a set screw, loosen it then turn the actual projection lens, tighten set screw.
