I am using a PS3 for BD and gaming on my Sony 52XBR6. It will probably be best to have different settings for blu ray and games, so how can I get around having to switch the settings back and forth every time I watch a BD? Also, I have looked around and have found a lot of different recommended settings for the xbr6, but have not found one that everybody really agrees on. Also, I have not found any recommended settings for gaming, just tv/bd. Any suggestions?

My suggestion....test out the different settings that people "recommend", then stick with the one that "you" like the best and forget about it....You will drive yourself crazy trying to tweak it every time you read about the best "recommended" settings.

Everyone's room is different...so use what "you" like.

If you go to the owners forum here on AVS you might find more detailed answers or opinions for your setup. But to add to what spectramr2 said find what works for you and go with it. My Hitachi has different setting for each input so you can have two different settings for your two respective inputs.

Oh I just realized your using your PS3 for double duty sorry, however I would find a compromise between the best gaming settings and the best movie settings and go with it. Or set the TV up for what you do the most and then just suck it up for the other activity.

I would surely get tired of switching the settings all the time.

Do they make an HDMI splitter? If so, you could run your PS3 output to the splitter and from the splitter run 2 HDMI cables to the XBR6. Designate one HDMI input for movies and one for games.

Would something like this even work?

EDIT - I found this at monoprice. HDMI Splitter
