I have a dead 53" Proscan RPTV that has a bad "distributor" (???) which involves (I'm told) a 350.00 repair. The are also large holes in the speaker cloth (no kitty! that's a bad kitty!) which probably can be easily replaced since the speaker-cloth panels are removable.
I'd like to just give up on this unit and get a 16:9 HDTV, but would I be better off donating it or trying to auction it on EBay?
How much of a tax write-off would I get?
