Following my other tread about muted colours on both desktop and overlay with my HDTV, I've just found that it only happpens with 540p timing resolutions such as 856x480p (540p timing), 960x540p, 1920x1080i.


With 856x480p (480p timing), there is no problem with color saturation at all. Colors are well saturated, similar level to those on pc monitor.


These happen to connections both with KDS vga-to-component transcoder and with ATI dongle.


Any idea please?

Try changing just the horizontal sync width in Powerstrip. If it is too wide it will throw off your colours and greyscale.


When you go into Powerstrip check the "Lock scan frequencies" and "Lock total geometry" boxes and then change the sync value. You should get the best results at 48 or 56.

Change the H-Sync width to 48 and 56 as you suggests but it doesn't solve the problem. What else should I try?

It might be your TV. Some TVs have different brightness and contrast settings for 540p/1080i than 480p. I'm not familiar with the JVC but you might look into that.
