I replaced a Sony 55xs955 with a 55hx800. I am using HDMI to the TV and direct audio optical from the source(s) to the HT receiver. I am now noticing that the audio arrives before the video. This was not an issue with the older Sony and I assume there is extra processing of the video in the new TV although it is supposed to have a faster processor. I also notice that if I go audio optical out of the TV to the receiver that there is no longer an issue. I want to know if the 55hx800 passes the audio with the same quality that I would get directly out of the source..

After addition reading I did find information on 'input lag'. I have not found any info on the HDMI TV audio part of the question. Any input?
