There is a Yahoo group dedicated to the Sony HS10's and any XBR's that have the same service menu. I believe your XBR10W does. There is a considerable amount of information on tweaking and other ways to maximize the picture on these sets. You might want to check it out before spending a few hundred on the ISF.
Also, fwiw, There have not been any good reports on the Denon 2800 yet. I love Denon equipment and have just bought my second Denon AVR in 5 years, but I think I would wait before getting the DVD. Do a search on it in this forum and check out the comments.
If you want to get the ISF done, a month of "settling in" should be plenty. I don't think the DVD player plays a big part in what they do. I could be wrong, but it seems I read that they use specific equipment to input test patterns and such, not something like AVIA or VE on DVD.
