yes, yet another mercata power buy - ends sunday 2000-11-19, 10PM PST


i wanted to get a 3060 as a gift, and half price was the perfect incentive.


(yesterday, i told a friend of mine about the deal that ended yesterday. his total price up front ended up being $480.30. he will then get the $100 NBC rebate, which means he got a 3060 for $380.30)

You are forgetting about the ebates rebate. So, don't do directly to Mercata, go to ebates first. I have all the links laid out for you on my site: http://www.hifi-remote.com/replaytv , which at 5% of $715 would be almost $36.

I just joined the powerbuy, but I had a problem trying to use ebates and passport together. After entering my passport password it would drop to an all white screen with just the ebates portal banner overhead. Mercata would not register the purchase. The status line on my browser said something like "done, but with errors". I think passport might not like sending the confidential info through the portal. I joined the powerbuy without using the ebates portal and had no problem. Lost a rebate of about $35 though. http://www.avsforum.com/ubb/frown.gif

If you still had the ebates banner on the page, I'm guessing that you did the link manually, the "ebates to Mercata" link on my site wouldn't have kept the ebates banner on the page. It would keep you within the frame on my page, so if the problem persists you could try right clicking on the link and selecting "open in a new window".

Rob, I guess it'll be up to someone else to try it that way; I think I've lost my chance to claim the ebate, having placed my Mercata order already. Other postings in this thread have said there's a problem with your link. I went to "stores" on ebates.com to find the Mercata link.

It didn't work for me either using Rob's link. I'd play it safe - just go to EBATES, click STORES and then MERCATA.COM. No worries then!

Randy, the point of my last two postings was the direct ebates to mercata link (not Rob's link) did NOT work because the Passport signin failed through the ebates portal.
