DirecTV offer almost zero sports in HD or 16x9 (occaisonal boxing match). For DirecTV sports you would probably be much happier with a 4x3 set. Now if you were primarily interested in movies I would recommend a 16x9 set. Specifically the Mits. 65857. I have a 55857 which replaced a Panasonic PT-56WXF95. I had nothing but problems with my Panasonic and Sears was unable to get parts to fix it. The Mits. seems like a much better design and at least for me is much better supported by my local dealer (not Sears). Good luck.

I think any of these TV will give you a great picture, I recently went throught the same dilema, I choose the Mits because of the promise of upgradability, as you may know the standard for HDTV connectivity is going to change, Mits is the only manufacturer that have come forward and promised a module to make their current TV future proof.
In addition I think the Mits have better picture, but this is my opinion.
