Hi, i have problems feeding the 7200 with VGA at 72p at 50Hz refresh. The frequency works perfectly in DVI and the PJ display "720p" (with brackets) instead of the usual 720p (without brackets) with perfectly smooth pans on PAL movies. Switching to VGA only displays a part of the desktop and 1280x1024 osd message. Using powerstrip i tried various combinations without success, on DVI all the values are perfectly rounded, on VGA you have a lot of variations in timings any time you touch a value. 60Hz works of course fine.

It's driving me nuts.

Because i have two htpc and i wanted to play pal movies at best on both. I also wanted to inspect any bit depth differences between DVi TDMS and VGA RAMDAC.

Please

I can't believe that none in PAL lands is suffering this problem.

To Mr. Williams: Bob, it's an old question that was never answered.

Have you tried the following settings?

Active pixels: 1280 H, 720 V

Refresh rate: 37.5 Khz H, 50 hz V

Front porch: 300 H, 20 V

Sync width: 40 H, 5 V

Back porch: 360 H, 5 V

Note: H=Horizontal, V=Vertical

I tried the settings last night with no success.

The best point i got was fixing Refresh rate at 37.5 Khz H, 50 hz V

a 720p message from the OSD appeared, but the desktop was stretched horizontally and the right part was missing.

Putting the frontporch at 300 makes the image roll and flicker with a green shade, terrible noises from the CW and of course all other values are affected. Are you sure the porches must be so high ?

best regards
