Is anyone using 720P with a D-ILA with an anamorphic lens?

If so, are you able to get the aspect ratio corrected?

I tried using Dilard to stretch the image vertically to 16:9 but can't do it.

does changing the AR (from 16:9 to 4:3) on the DILA source resolution result in synch information on the bottom of the screen? If not, this is the method I would choose first without modifying the source resolution.

Don, the aspect ratio option is fixed and greyed out at 16:9 when the input is 720P.

I got this to work, back when I was experimenting with a Panamorph, but I forget how (sorry). I'm not using the Panamorph any more, so I can't check. But, I vaguely recall the business about the aspect ratio option being grayed out, and that it worked using the other input (Computer 1 or Computer 2). Sorry I'm so vague, but I can't remember exactly what I did, just that it can be done. So, if you can, I'd suggest trying the other input.

Are you saying that you have aspect ratio control with 1080i but not 720p?


Which source and input are you using for this configuration?


I too had fooled around with these settings when testing a panamorph.

I am at work right now so I can't check my projector to see if I have the same limitations.

Hi Frank,


I remember that I did have to adjust the setting a little bit for 720P to make the aspect ratio come out right, but it was within the range of what the projector could do.


On the Dilard Mod page , there is still a "Fit 1280x720 HiPix HDTV on 16-9 Screen" which is what I believe is the mod that did the trick for me. I don't have the HiPix (or any HD) anymore to verifify (something I need to fix soon!).

Correct! Aspect ratio control works for 1080i but not for 720P.

I am using the RGBHV input.


Mark, none of the 720P mods on our site appear to be for use with a anamorphic lens.


Still wondering what to do....
