75" Samsung Q80R $2299

Got what I think is a fantastic deal on the 75" Q80R, good enough that I decided to return the 65". Let's hope everything works out with this sale..delivery scheduled for Aug. 20th.

I will buy Square Trade 4 year warranty for $349. They had a great deal on the 2 year for only $75 but I want the longer warranty.

So all in I will be at $2730 with 5 year warranty(1 yr mfr plus 4 year SquareTrade) including 2% cash back. However, I might also be getting 2% through ebates but it hasn't posted yet. This will reduce total cost to $2681.

Edit: $2523 total cost after finding the warranty cheaper on E-bay (3 year) including cash back. If I get ebates credit, a little less than that.

That is a good deal on a huge screen. Good job.

Thank you, here is an update. I found a 3 year SquareTrade warranty on ebay for $129.99 instead of the 4 year from SquareTrade website for $349. I hate to lose a year of warranty but thats a pretty good savings and gives me four years total coverage. Again, I'll update if this actually all pans out as hoped.

Edit: The warranty is 3 years total, overlaps the 1 yr manufacturer warranty. Really have to look into this stuff carefully, as the 4 year warranty on the SquareTrade website states that it is an *extended* warranty that goes into effect after the mfr warranty expires, but I'm still not 100% sure if it begins from the purchase date and just overlaps the first year.

That is an excellent deal. Where did you buy it and is it available for others?

Shows to have a number available. The seller seems to have a fairly large number of reviews mostly all positive except for a very small handful. I messaged seller to ensure this was a new, factory sealed unit that would include the factory warranty, not refurbished, B-stock, European version etc. I got a response very quickly..same day within a matter of hours, and received a shipping notice same day as well.

Oh, you talking eBay. There's only a few I would consider there. Here's one for 2100 if you brave.

Let us know how you're deal goes when you recieve it. Best of luck.

You think it’s a bad idea to buy from E-bay?

Maybe, maybe not. It obviously depends on the seller. Before I spend that much I need at least 10000 reviews at >= 98% for a seller on ebay

But really, you never know until it's at your residence

I can appreciate that, for sure. I have to admit, I'm leary with ordering off e-bay as well, but here is an update.

Messaged seller Sunday morning 8/11 inquiring about product. Received a reply within hours(maybe 2). Placed order Sunday 8/11. Received shipping notice Sunday 8/11. Received shipping update 8/12 that TV was at local hub. Received shipping update 8/13 that TV was scheduled for delivery 8/13. I'll report back when the TV arrives, and the condition.

How do you like your 77" OLED? I have been extremely tempted to go with an OLED, but the 77" is out of budget and I'm thinking that, even if the OLED picture is somewhat better, a 75" QLED will have a better viewing experience than a 65" OLED. I'm 10-11' from the screen.

isnt costcos squaretrade cheaper? think its $99 for 3 years
Only applies to TV's purchased at Costco. It's odd how these SquareTrade warranties are available much cheaper through retailers/sellers than through SquareTrade themselves. I would have bought a 4 or 5 year plan but 3 is the longest offered through e-bay.

I have a lot of experience buying higher-end A/V equipment at eBay. Message me and I will tell you how and where to get the best deal and not be taken. I buy square trade off of eBay. On my 65” Qled it was $74 in January. Not sure why so cheap.

The question is: are these "authorized" sellers? Otherwise you can probably flush the manufactures warranty down the toilet..

Care to give me an example of a good ebay seller on a Samsung 75 Q90R so I can go there and see what they are saying?

These are likely grey market, yet reputable sellers (meaning, you may not get your warranty, but you will definitely get your goods). They will sell you a warranty if you wish and they "Claim" that if you need mfr warranty service, you simply must go through them first and not the mfr. I did that with a Pioneer Elite AVR a few years ago. Took 10 days versus 5, but Pioneer replaced the unit fully for "them".

I seriously have had nothing but a good experience with the two I have dealt with. I have purchased 4 TV's (including a Q9FN and recently a Q900R) and a lot of other equipment (2 AVR's, etc.). No issues. Pretty nice guys on the phone.

I will tell you that one of these sellers will absolutely try to sell you an aftermarket warranty (but it's with a reputable warranty company). I just bought my own on eBay.

Buying like this isn't for everyone. I don't like the fact that the mfr won't support their own warranty because of where you bought it. I don't like that they protect pricing. Let the free market dictate pricing.

There is a guy that sponsors on here as well that always tells me to shop him last... so if you want I can put you with him. I believe you will get a warranty though him.

It appears that you can get almost as good deals on Greentoe from what I have seen mentioned and talked about. They are all suppose to be "authorized" retailers. I have been putting values in their "success" meter for a few different sets and the "good" chance of success is way below Amazon/Bestbuy/etc..

OK here's the lowdown so far:

Sunday 8/11...emailed seller about TV
Sunday 8/11, hours later.....seller responded and answered questions.
Sunday 8/11 placed order
Sunday 8/11 Received shipping notice
Monday 8/12 midnight..shipping update that TV was at local terminal hour away
Tuesday 8/13 Talked to shipper, informed TV was dropped off to a local carrier with smaller trucks who deliver residential
Wednesday 8/14 Received TV around 11:30 am.

Perfect condition, factory sealed, brand new. TV is installed, up and running with no issues.

Only one problem. The DIYSG Fusion 8 MTM dual 8" 98.5 dB sensitive center channel that I recently built won't fit under it. :(

I grabbed a very low profile JBL A135C just in case so I'll hook it up and see how it sounds and looks. It's a huge downgrade so might look for something more capable.

Also, just registered the TV with Samsung for warranty. Have to activate the Square Trade 3 year warranty now.

I was able to register my Q80 for warranty on the Samsung website. :)
