Does anyone have a suggestion for an 80 inch flat panel HDTV?

I'm not sure if there is such a thing. There has been prototypes but I'm just not sure how many real TVs are out there in this size. The only ones off the top of my head are the 100" Panasonic plasma for 50 grand and Mitsubishi's 82" DLP under $5k.
I thought Honeywell was supposed to be coming out with a 60 something and 80 something inch LCD this year. There was a thread on here about them. Haven't heard anything recently though

i think plans for anything larger then 65 - 70 were scraped after the economy tanked
My understanding is that the industry decided some time ago to leave everything over 70 or so inches to front projection. Yes I know there's problems with setup etc but FP can do a good job with large sizes and is getting better every year.

I went the front projection route earlier this year and the picture can look very good. I went with an Dalite High Power screen and it's pretty bright in a darkened room and really has an impact on movies. However you need a darkened room for best results and personally with them being bulb based (and the bulbs not cheap) I wouldn't use it for TV usage. They are great for movies!

RGB-LED-DLP projectors will come soon in the $7000-8000 price range. BenQ W30000 and Vivitek H9080FD...

I was really anticipating tne Soyo/Honeywell sets, but Soyo declared bankruptcy a few months ago, so thery're off the table. Looks like I'll have to pick up the Mitsubishi 82" to get the size I want.
