Could I ask those of you who have performed the Anamorphic Squeeze mod to your Electrohome 8000 or 8500, what resolution and refresh rate you're running at ? I did a search and it *sounds like* 1440x9xx something was the way to go, but it didn't do anything but give me an abnormally squeezed picture.

Also, the threads I was searching through were very confusing because people just mentioned their resolution without mentioning if they had the squeeze mode done and were using it or not.

I have Powerstrip.

Thanks,

Ed

I do 1280x720p on my Barco 808 which bascially has the same tubes as your Marquee. I can just see the scan lines at 720 when I am very close to the screen when to the anamorphic squeez. Unless you have your Marquee dialed in real well I don't think you are going to be able to fully resolve 960p with the squeeze. For 4:3 (not squeezed) I can see the scan lines more esaily and could probably go to 960p for that.

Thanks, guys. Any reason why my 8000 might not like 72hz when using an ATI 9600 non-pro video card?

*edit* I'm able to get 1280/720/72hz with Powerstrip, but I have alot of *somewhat horizontal* video noise going up and down the screen.

I am able to see scan lines. This is a good thing, right?

EDIT: I got it to work fine! It was just a run of "el cheapo" VGA extension cable that appeared to meet it's limit somehow.

As soon as I took the extension cable out of the loop, 95% of the video noise dissapeared. Now all I get is a tiny (practically unoticeable) amount of shakiness. :)
