Hello all,

I just recently put togther an HTPC for my Hitachi 50V500. All my custom resolutions have been fine so far and i can get many games to work but my problem is this...

BF1942, Battlefield 1942 uses an 800X600 screen size for its menus. I cant seem to find an 800X600 that actually works with my tv. Most resolutions in powerstrip let you cancel out of them if they garble up your screen but all of the 800X600s ive tried freeze my machine to the point where i need to reboot and sometimes reconnect my computer monitor to make them work again..

I'd really like to frag some baathist punks in desert combat but i cant get the res right.. any suggestions?

my setup:

ATI AIW 9700 PRO,(I am using DVI out, dont know if using composite cables is better...?)

MB ASUS K8V SE DELUXE K8T800 motherboard

POWER SUPPLY 500W ALLIED AL-B500E R

HD 74GB|WD 10,000RPM 8MB WD740GD

CPU AMD 64 |3200+ ATHLON 64

DDRAM 1GB DDR400 PC3200

LOGITECH BLUETOOTH KEYBOARD AND MOUSE

TV: HITACHI 50V500 LCD PROJECTION

Unrelated to your post, but how do you like the 10,000rpm hard drive? Any noticable performance difference vs. a 7,200rpm? Is it louder? I was thinking of going this way as well.

Regards,

Matt
