Just saw at the store.

$230 for a 80gig Western Digital HD.

with a $100 rebate.


catch is that the drive is 7200 RPM

Add a fan and it will be cool enough.

I think he bought his drive at Fry's Electronics. I'mretty sure the rebate is limited to one per person, household, or address, blah blah blah.

I didn't post the store since not everyone has Fry's and I made the assumption that this rebate is universal.


Since I haven't bought one (yet), I have not seen the rebate form.

However, according the the WD website, the forms are available at the retailers. This is not a Fry's only rebate. I think WD is trying to clear stock for the upcoming 120Gig drives.

That is similar to the deal I got at Fry's for a 100Gb Western Digital drive for $299- $100 rebate. Also, 7200rpm (I added a fan and it works great!).
