I like whatever TV is on the bottom better based on your photos, but that doesn't necessarily mean anything other than the angle, etc.
Let’s see these same pictures at night in a dark room .Really? To me the colors on the top tv are better. For instance the football picture the field is more bluish on the bottom one. Hockey is way dimmer snd the ice is has a bluish tint. And the scenery picture the top one shows more shades in the sky and water, especially on the right side where the sky on the top one has various shades of blue and the bottom one is just one shade with missing clouds.
Have you ever heard of a thing called calibration ?I personally can’t stand blooming and light bleed into black bars . The Sony is a solid set but not for me . You’ve been at this for a while just go with what you like and be done with it .LG still looks blue at night
What are you trying to accomplish ?confused .Another
why bother replying if you've got nothing useful to say. Seriously the blooming isnt terrible. Yes it's there but not bad and you never notice light bleed in black bars especially if you pay attention to what you watch. I dont watch movies just to stare at black bars the entire time. Sounds like you enjoy doing that so for those that stare at the blacks then the LG is for you. What are you trying to accomplish ?confused .
No worries enjoy your set , I am confident enough in what I like not to have to have my tastes validated by others . If you think the 950h is better more power to you . I just know you complained incessantly about brightness in the Oled forums . Have a good night . One final thought you might want to research contrast ratio and the it’s importance in overall pq.why bother replying if you've got nothing useful to say. Seriously the blooming isnt terrible. Top one looks better to me, except in the first pic from the sitcom. Personally, I would prefer a little blooming over a panel with 3 different shades of gray and color banding, which is what I got with my CX.Just an interesting take on a 950H vs a CX. Both 55", Sony in Custom mode LG in Filmmaker. LG set to max brightness. Sony at 35. I dont have any night time between the two as I know the Sony has some blooming in dark scenes.
Also don't have these pics but in some scenes the LG looked better than the Sony but the majority had me favoring the Sony, especially in Dolby Vision. The open sequence of the Lion King remake looked incredible on the Sony and very dull on the LG(probably ABL). Same with Aladdin and Up, colors were just more pronounced on the Sony.
What’s a disk calibration going to show? That whites and blacks are dialed in. Most TVs today rarely require touching brightness/contrast oobComparisons like this are kinda irrelevant if the sets aren't calibrated. I mean I guess you could be testing out-of-the-box quality but why? Grab a Spears and Munsil disc and run the sets through a basic calibration, then compare.
Because most people buy the best TV they can afford, and dont have money left over for professional calibration. I know I sure dont. If I did, I would just buy one from Value Electronics and pay the $600 fee to hand pick a panel and calibrate it. Way our of my pay grade. I use the AVS slides and do the best I can with the regular settings that dont require a colorimeter.Comparisons like this are kinda irrelevant if the sets aren't calibrated. 950h is another example of Sony being lazy with their lcd line. Their oled is impressive thougholed and it aint close
