Hi all,

I am about to run 1000hrs on my first lamp Sanyo XP21,10 months of use.

Should I change it at 1000hrs?

Keep it in for a extra couple of hundred hours?

What is the risk of explosion past 1000Hrs?

I still have a bright picture which is not a problem for daytime viewing in my not 100% light controlled room on my 96 inch wide screen.

$2500 Hong Kong dollars which is about $320 US dollars.

Appreciate any feedback.

Dan Houck has one. Isn't that bulb a 200W UHP rated at 2000 hours? If it isn't dim, why replace it at half-life?

Thanks Dawn,

I am hoping that Dan, JHouse chime in with their experience.

The "Replace Lamp" light should come on at 1000Hrs from the setting in the Service menu. Dan has the Boxlight which I think you are correct with 2000hrs, more from Dan I hope.

I know some projectors are disabled once they reach the allotted lamp hours, don't think that the Sanyo does that.
