A-bus Trouble

Have a very basic 4 zone Channel Vision system with an ipod input. Wanted to route the Ipod to the home theatre as well, so I purchased a Russound A-OM (a-bus to analog line level converter). The box gets the signal to the receiver just fine and the system works except when the A-OM is connected, the sound of the abus degrades noticeably (more distortion, loss of low end). Everything is wired correctly. My first thought was that the A-OM is drawing too much power from the bus, but it really shouldn't be so much as to draw down the rest of the system. Any insights?
