This is something I never expected to get released on Blu-ray, but apparently it is. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" is coming to Blu-ray on October 6th.

Interesting. I'd be much more interested in the old Rankin/Bass stop motion specials, though.

I will buy it [Charlie Brown]...but would love to see Rudolph Red Nosed Reindeer.

It looks great on CBS.
Love these specials, but having only one per disc is really lame.
I hope it's not a DNR-fest.
This will bring back memories of when I was a kid.
nice surprise -

but where is the Great Pumpkin ?

I've gladly bought every incarnation of the G.P.

and I agree, Rudolph is a must
Already own the Charlie Brown DVD set, but this one is tempting.
It will be mine.

I'm definitely interested but I won't be paying $25 for a 30 minute show.

Oh no no! It's not a shoe! It's a Blu-ray disc.

But look at the bright side. You'll probably get 3 or more hours of "bonus material".

Yeah, I know. I was just joking.

Seriously though, this 30 minute cartoon has always been overpriced. Even on DVD, the cheapest you can get this is $20. I think this show should not cost more than $9.99. This is the reason I never ever bought it even though I like this cartoon a lot.

Nothing says Christmas like Christmas Time Is Here by Vince Guaraldi... strange how some things really impact your frame of mind... one of the few things of childhood that bring me pleasure as an adult.

You bet! I have the SACD of that soundtrack and it gets heavy play in December.

I know. I've always loved this cartoon. I've watched it every Christmas since I was 5. Never grew out of it. I still enjoy watching it til this day.
It'd be worth a $30 disc if they included the Great Pumpkin and the Thanksgiving special as well (you know that forgotten holiday
).
