A Few 1041Q Questions...

213 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Neo851
I just found myself a nice little 1041Q with no tube wear, and just have a couple questions..

1) While converging, the red and blue are okay in that they're relatively geometrically correct, but the green is WAY off.. (See attachment) how would one go about fixing that when you consider that there are no seperate controls for green only?

2) It's set up as rear projection I think (The image is mirrored in the vertical axis.. text appears backwords), I checked the boyz toyz service manual for the 1031Q, but it didn't say anything about this... how do I switch back to normal?

You need to rotate the deflection yoke on the green tube. There is information in the Eboytoys website on how to do this. Basically just loosen the clamp on the tube neck and carefully turn the yoke coil. You'll have to do it with the power on, so be careful. Make sure your convergence controls are all set to center before you do this. And if someone already moved it that far off, then it's probably not too tight anyway.

Is the picture both upside-down and backwards? I'm not too familiar with the 1041Q, but here's some info from CRT Cinema:

Q. How do I flip the image on my Sony VPH-104x series projector?

A. Remove the top cover assembly. There are 2 screws under the rear control panel cover and 3 screws under the rear logo plate. Be sure the unit is powered off before going any further. On the "E" board (top left) locate the E-1, 2, 3 jumpers. Lift each one off, rotate 180 degrees and reinstall. Moving right to the "D" board move the 3 CN jumpers to their corresponding alternate location. Moving right and toward the lenses, locate the 5 switches HDC, H1, VDC, V1, and V2. Flip each switch into the opposite position. All switches should be either on or off, not mixed. Reassemble the unit.

Good Luck

Right on on both questions - thanks a lot!
