When browsing around on the ChannelGuide the other day, I got to thinking that it might be nice to create a couple of short cuts to make it a bit easier.

Quick Skip - Jumps forward a day

Instant Replay - Backs up a Day

Return To Live - Takes you to the current Date/Time

My second feature request is for a position cursor for the currently selected show in the ReplayGuide. A little triangle, a V or just a little vertical mark showing the approximate "play" position would

be nice!

Third request(do I get three?), a little triange "dog ear" for new shows in the ReplayGuide. Put it on the upper right of the box.

These things would make the system much more enjoyable for me.

ReplayGuys - Thanks again for such a great product!!!

All of these are EXCELLENT ideas!

Ya wanna go into business together? I'm thinking about building and selling PVRs. I'll call them Revos, and let all the users write the OS themselves.

And that way I won't have to listen to them complain!

A couple of months ago I made the following suggestions:

Quick Skip - Forward 90 minutes (1 screen)

Instant Replay - Back 90 minutes (1 screen)

N-Quick Skip - Forward N hours

N-Instant Replay - Back N hours

N-Fast Forward - Forward N days

N-Rewind - Back N days

Keep:

Fast Forward - Forward 12 hours

Rewind - Back 12 hours

Maybe Revonux would be a better name!

I like all 3 of FreezeFrame's ideas, and I like Karog's version of the Channel Guide idea even better. Whadya say ReplayGuys, you like?

I would like to see all Replay Guide recorded shows indicate their current play position by coloring left of the play position with a slightly lighter color and right of the play position with a slightly darker shade of the same color.

This would be both informative and at the same time unobtrusive.

FreezeFrame, you know you seem like a hacker who has a lot of good ideas. Perhaps ReplayTV would hire you.

Hey, even better! I like it!!!!!

As for coloring the show "bar" with the percentaged watched. It would have to be a very subtle hue difference, so that the display does not appear too "busy". I would leave this up to the engineers to see which is easier to implement. I'd settle for just a "play position cursor" on the currently selected show. Marking in this way is also more extensible, i.e. one could eventually "show mark" for advanced features(jump to show mark, editing, ...).
