I am having am basement done am looking for looking for some help with a good AV receiver for under $500. Here is the set up I will have:


Polk RT 300 (front)

Polk RT 150 (rear)

Polk CSR center channel

BIC HT 100 sub woofer


Connected to 1080p DLP ( haven't decide on the Toshiba 65HM167 or the Mitsu WD 65831, connect to Direct TV HD DVR receiver, PS3 and x-box 360. Likely will add a HD DVD somewhere down the road.


I have

looked the Onkyo 604, 674, 574 and 605. I know the "5"series is HMDI 1.3 but......??????

The Onkyo TX-SR605 will probably be your best bet for under $500.

Why are you limiting yourself only to Onkyo's?

No one has even seen this "best bet" yet so waiting to find out what warts it actually has (it will have some... guaranteed) is a better bet.
