Hi Guys, my lpx 500 is being replaced by yamaha with the new dpx530. All well and good but, how do these two projectors stand against one and other? and what am i to expect in difference between lcd and dlp?. I feel this issue is very important to us all, as this opportunity of replacement can come along to anyone, not only with projectors but amps and other equipment also. So, i also ask the question is this projector any better or should i go for some other deal?. I have tried comparing the two and am of limited Knowelege in specs. What will be the pros and what will be the cons?. But i do keep in mind that Yamaha are doing there best to help me. Regards Grassy..

lpx 500 is 1280 by 720, dpx 530 is 1024 by 576 so you are losing resolution (this won't be to much of a concern unless you are watching high definition tv)

The DPX530 has a low contrast ratio of 800:1, the DPX has a 4000:1 contrast ratio. This will make a huge difference in picture quality. Blacks will be much darker and the image will pop off the screen and have more depth.

Sounds like a good deal.
gwlaw99, tanks mate its good to have other opinions, it makes the process a little easier.(peace of mind). Regards Grassy...
