Just looking for advice on what would be the ideal screen "material" to use with my Sanyo PLV-Z1. I am currently using a 52x96 DIY blackout screen with one good coat of gesso and i'm extremely pleased with the quality of the image. This works great for my widescreen viewing but I would really like to have some added height for when i'm watching 4:3 material. The blackout cloth i'm using only comes in a 54" width so it looks like i'm going to have to go with a commercial screen but i'm not sure which type would provide the best image in a room with moderate to good light control (firehawk, greyhawk, matte white, HCMW, glass beaded , etc ). To many different types of material with to many different gains for this newbie to comprehend.

If you want to stay with a DIY screen, have you considered purchasing artist canvas? It comes in much wider widths. It can be purchased for similar costs to the blackout fabric.
