Good evening, helpful people. I just fired up a used 8500 that I brought home today. Looks pretty good so far - no tweaking at all yet, just rolled it back on a cart in my garage until it was roughly focused & converged. Looks like it was ceiling mount & I need to un-invert the image. Can anyone tell me if that's a menu item buried somewhere or a switch(es).

I'm off to look for a user manual download - could use a tip on a site for that, tho I expect google to help.

Thanks....

Hi Rick

The image reversal is not in any of the menus. It is reversing the

scan yoke connectors only. There are 6 to reverse. Three to the

HDM module (between the green and blue crts) and three to the

vertical board on the rear heat sink. Hope Google worked for

finding the manuals, I do not recall the site I downloaded them

from.

Great! Thanks much, both you guys. I'm going to wait until tomorrow to move the PJ in the den & get it set up. Good night...

Hi Bill -

I just caved in and picked up a Marquee 8500, forsaking forever (okay, maybe just for a while) my Barcos, based on the buzz about Mike's mods.

It came w/o any manuals, however, so I'd like to find one. I tried clicking on the link that you provided above, but with no luck. I'm basically computer illiterate, but is there something about an ftp site that is unique, URL-wise? Is the link active as is, or do I need to add something to the URL as given?

Appreciate the fact that you've got the manuals available, and appreciate the Marquee maintenance posts. Thanks - Pat

I just tried the link and it appears to work. It should bring up a username/password dialog box and just enter the info provided above. His site if I remember correctly has the manuals, schematics and some software for the 8500/9500's.

Pat,

Steve is right, all is working fine and you should be able to just click on the link.

If you use that URL with a browser you can copy files or directories just like you would in Windows. Or if you use an FTP client, you just follow whatever commands are appropriate for that client. It should all be pretty straightforward.

Your first item of interest for general operation and setup would be the Marquee Training Manual. The new version is most detailed with steps, but the old version has more technical information. The Madrigal MP8 manual is informative as well (it's really an 8500).

Let me know if you still have problems.
