Heard the phrase, "Set it and forget it." Well that's what I did when it came time to install an M Audio 7.1 board. It worked great for months until I installed Vista RC1 on my HTPC. It didn't appear that there were any conflicts, but after everything loaded and rebooted, I got the dreaded blue screen of death. I rolled back Vista, but no audio and I had to reinstall video drivers.
I can get audio out of the optical output from the M/B, but not from my 7.1 board. How do I disable the former so the latter will work.

PS - The MCE extensions on Vista look pretty interesting and worth exploring. I get a real copy in another couple of weeks and will post the results once I upgrade.
