Not sure how you think this screen is virtually identical to the ezCinema? The Vividstorm screen is lenticular, powered, and tab-tensioned?Looks virtually identical to the Elite ezCinema. Like all retractable screens, guaranteed to develop waves over time that will be more of an issue with a UST projector than with a longer throw. My ezCinema has developed minor waves that aren't noticeable with my longer throw projector but I wouldn't want to have with a UST. If it's made like the ezCinema it will likely have the same separation issue at the seam where the bottom black section meets the white image area. If so my ezCinema fix should be helpful:

You are right. I didn't watch the video but instead went to Vividstorm's website. When I visited their website there was no mention of an electric floor rising screen with UST ALR screen material listed. All of the screen materials listed were for standard throw projectors and the floor rising screens were all manual. I just revisited Vividstorm's website and it's been updated with the new screen, which is obviously quite different from the ezCinema. Not sure how you think this screen is virtually identical to the ezCinema? How much did you pay for this? Is it coming from China?I have this exact screen arriving today or tomorrow. It is this YouTube video that sold me on it, confirming that I had made the right decision.
I am amazed that more people don't gravitate towards this option. It seems like such a clean solution - rather than having a massive screen on a wall that doesn't do anything else apart from take up space when not being used for its intended purpose, you can simply retract this floor-riser screen and it disappears. The way I look at it, is that one of the newest UST projectors is only going to sit 21" out from the wall. This is no more than any credenza is going to sit. I much prefer this, rather than a huge blob sitting in the middle of the ceiling, to the detriment of the room's aesthetics. We will have this screen rising up in front of a window, on a wall where previously, there would be no way to mount a fixed screen, so now, we will have a screen mounted in the most ideal position relative to our seating position. It's a huge win, for us.
I don't have a projector for it yet - I am waiting for a definitive review on the Optoma P1 (ideally, in a head-to-head comparison to the LG HU85LA).

well... people took their tv's off the floor and started hanging them on the wall to improve aesthetics and free up space, too. so i think it just depends on where you need that space. a screen like this honestly takes up a lot more floor space than a traditional fixed frame screen, or even a retractable one. but i think this form factor is easier to hide on the ground than the wall.I have this exact screen arriving today or tomorrow.
