My living room doubles as my home theatre and we are renovating and I need advice on how the sequence of events should go. The tv screen is moving over the fireplace wich is getting new stone facing and mantle and the entire room is getting painted and I was wondering when to to the av portion- I am thinking last after the stone reno and the paint. Am I right in this? There will be some going into the walls to run cable etc. so I am not completely sure. Thanks in advance, I always get good info on these forums.

And think twice about the "TV over fireplace" location. Look through lots of threads here about that - it's not generally a good viewing position, and there are issues getting the speakers placed as well...

But yes, all the AV work should be planned and wired before you start any finishing work (stone, paint, etc.)
