Check with your local A/V store. See if they'll let you try out cables. If they do, try some out. If you don't notice a difference, stick with the monsters and save the money for some DVD's (or something else). If you notice a difference go with the ones you like the best (and can afford). Be careful of the subliminal effects of having a bigger cable or wire or the thought that the more expensive sounds better.
But on the other hand if it makes you think it sounds/looks better, is that bad?
