I am in the process of putting some in the wall wiring to my tv and am going to purchase a new receiver. I am hoping to run one HDMI cable through the wall to cover all my needs from the receiver but I have a question first. If I have a WII or cable tv box hooked up via component outputs to the receiver, will they then output on the HDMI output on the receiver, or just the component outputs?

Thank you in advance.

Depends on the receiver. Look for "HDMI upconversion" or "1080p upconversion" in the specs for your receiver to make sure it'll do that.

But if you're going to run new cables in the wall to the TV, be sure to put 2-4 (3 is a good number) Cat5/Cat6 cables to handle anything else that may come up in addition or in place of HDMI (in the future).
