How would a lot of base affect a 16' X 4' X 4' aquarium, thats right a 7 ton aquarium in a HT. It will act as the left wall in the HT. Anyone have a fish tank in close proximity to a lot of base?

What kind of bass are you going to be "sub" jecting to that giant fish tank? I have a 10 gallon tank by my sub..no issues here
.

btw...saltwater of freshwater. That's a huge tank man!

Freshwater. And I hope to be "sub"jecting it to two of Mark Seatons Submersive's. I was just concerned that the sound waves migh resonate in the tank and it would explode like that glass did on myth busters(Except , my tank is acrylic).

I have a SVS 20-39PCi and had it right next to my 150 gallon fish tank (African Cichlids) that was built into the wall. It was there for about 4 years before I moved it for better bass response. Never had a problem with any bass. There's another 65 gallon tank in the corner that also is doing well. The fish don't even seem to notice it.

I'm more concerned with what a huge reflective surface like that is going to do to the sound... and not just the bass...

I have that covered, I am planing on having some sort of acoustic retractable wall that I can control so I can control at leats some of the reflections.

I have a SW store in the Atlanta area and have done a 10' x 2' x 3' acrylic tank for one customer in a theater I also designed for him. I personally have a 200 gal reef tank in my theater. I have a pull down screen that covers the tank if watching movies so the light doesn't affect the pic. When its pulled down it looks just like the pannels around the rest of the room. I have a 7.1 system with a MFW sub, that I crank. Fish and corals doing awesome. BTW I have been in business for ten years and a hobbiest for 30+. Your tank WILL NOT explode with those sound waves, mostly because its acrylic.

If you play lots of Mozart they'll be smarter. Play "Amadeus" on continuous loop while you're away and all your fish will grow huge heads.
