Does anyone know what the blinking green light means on the A2020? I've seen this type of issue on other sony sets but not this one. When I turn the tv on it will have picture for about a minute then go black and the green light just flashes. It never turns red. Then maybe 30 secs or so it the lamp may turn back on for a few seconds and goes right back off again. Not sure what this means. I took the back off the tv and cleaned off both fans with a air can so thats not the issue. Any Help would be appreciated. thanks in advance

If it's the lamp wouldnt the lamp light come on or not? and after posting i left the tv on while on the computer and now it's been playing for the last hour or so. If it the ballast is that an easy fix and where do i get the part?

Well if you can open the tv on the back and see the light. then it could be a ballat issue , and to obtain the bllast you would need the number that is on the ballast itself. and go to discount-merchant.com or tvpartsource.com . for info on the ballast

99% sure it's the bulb. That's what happened to mine. Tech said something about those bulbs sometimes go bad with some kind of high capacitance (SP) resistance, can't remember exactly what it was. Mine also would come on, then go black, still had audio. Amount of time black would vary from few seconds to 20 or 30 seconds. Time on would vary as well.

Here is where mine gets interesting, that happened at 3 days before warranty went out. Took 3 weeks to get bulb due to holidays. After putting bulb in, about 3 days later screen had a yellow 7 shape on screen, gradually got worse. Turned out OB went out.

Hope the bulb problem doesn't contribute to that problem, couldn't get any answers here if it did. I'm assuming no answers means no one else has encountered this connection to bulb and OB, so hope my was a freak.

Mine was a 50A2020, short lived. New OB was more than I paid for TV, didn't repair. Dead at 13 months. Bulb had around 3k to 4k hours, don't remember exact number.

Well either it could be the ballast or the bulb, on some occasions when the lamp goes out depending on the years on the TV, the ballast also goes out. its very common to have that sort of trouble. but.. on the bright side its always good to replace the lamp and the ballast so you don't get that type of trouble.
